The Bat House

This weekend involved a few adventures. It started out on Friday with a Spontaneous DI-themed dance. It was announced on Thursday at school, and it was boys and girls choice so I asked my friend Christian after school, and we decided to still be dorks and dress in DI clothes to the dance. We went to Chick-Fil-A and then hit the dance floor at school. When we got there, there were only about 20 people, but we all knew each other and we immediately broke out in dance moves. The rest of our friends showed up, and it was time to party! The gym never completely filled up because not everyone wanted to go to a spontaneous dance, so everyone else missed out. Many of us were sore afterwards and my back and neck have not been this stiff for a long time, even after lifting 50-60 lbs at the gym. Brighton definitely has class and it was one of the best dances!!

On Saturday we had our State Choir tourney. We all hopped on a bus for an hour to a high school out in the boondocks. Unfortunately I had a really bad stomach ache so I could not sing well, but we ended up placing a 1-,1-, and a 1, which is pretty good!

So about this bat house...My friend Michelle and I went to a small wedding reception for one of our friends on Saturday night. We originally thought it was at her house, but after arriving we discovered nobody was there, so we checked the address once more. We went to the address the invite said and here was this house that looked very sketchy. Why? Haha there was a large bat decoration wearing a santa clause hat above the garage, along with gargoyle statues, along with an eerie-looking black door. We went up to the door, in our bright spring dresses, and asked, "Is this where the wedding reception is?" The girl at the door looked very confused and shook her head. We decided to check this other street that sounded similar, and it turns out the reception was at a church! We laughed so hard we cried, so we will always remember that bat house. And so here is a pic and I sure hope the owner of the house never reads this blog post :p
