Dream House

Day 16: Hmmm, well, I'm not picky with the type of house I want to live in. I'm hoping for a home that's comfy and homey that I can help decorate in a modern way. But here are some things that I have to admit would be sweet:

-A room of requirement, like in Harry Potter, where whatever I needed would be supplied in the room, or the room would change around for what was needed at the time (ex: if I wanted to watch a movie, it would change to a theater room. Play some bowling: sha bam. A bowling alley. If I would want a place for peace and quiet, it would have a couple of luvsacs, bookshelves, and a nice high def tv.) You get the picture. It would be so sweet!

-In the basement, there would be a ping pong table, luvsacs, high def tv, and a nice kitchen complete with a slurpee maker.
-a library
-a bowling alley
-a theater room
-And the backyard would be large and very green, with different trees and enough shade. There would be a trampoline and swing set. There would be a small stream that would lead to a pond, with a white bridge going over it. I would also have a swimming pool with large water slides going into it and a hot tub off to the side.

And my house would look like this:

Haha so yes that is something of what my dream house would be like. It would be awesome, but I honestly don't think I could handle that much in one house. When it comes to reality I would just want a simple, lovely house with a few fun things and a pretty backyard :)

Day 15 (Halfway there)

Day 15: Bible verse. Well, ok, I have many favorite scriptures, and I guess the articles of faith are extensions of the scriptures. I absolutely love our theme this year, the 13th article of fatih:

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men, indeed that we may say we follow the admonition of Paul. We belive all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy, we seek after these things (I am proud to say I still always had this memorized ever since I was in primary) :)

I love this article of faith! The words honest, true, chaste, benevolent, and virtuous are not always words we hear these days. They are true qualities that we must strive to be good examples and live like our savior. Service is key as well. We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. These words are wonderful, because it is important to always hope for the best, and to show faith and trust in our Heavenly Father as we strive to endure all things, knowing he has helped us during our past hard times. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, of good report, or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. It is crucial to stay away from anything harmful, and to seek for the good and count our blessings, to compliment others and to thank our Heavenly Father for all our blessings.

I am starting the blog 30 day challenge again because I am at home where I can be on a working computer. Day 14: a picture you love:

Color my World

On Saturday I was able to go to the festival of colors with Josh, Alicia, and her boyfriend. It was a blast. Literally. But we had such a great time! It took us a few hours to find the place, but once we did, we parked and walked a while (perhaps 3 or 4 miles). We got there right after the huge color tossing, so we did not get as much color on us, so I am excited to go again next year with people I will meet at BYU to get more colored up! This is what it looked like:

We had such a fun time! It took so long to get all the pink out of my scalp, and my lungs hurt after wards and I was blowing purple out of my nose. My skin is still a little purple in some areas, but it was all worth it! We saw llamas, threw colors at each other and danced around. I can't wait to go again next year!!

Crazy couple of weeks!!

Oh my the past few weeks have been insane. (Long story short) after a lot of fighting from my grandpa at home about him not wanting to attend his son's wedding, (for many excuses such as they couldn't afford it, they had to stay to take care of more contention at home, etc) he finally decided to go. I am so glad that they were able to go because I know that my uncle and his fiance need his support! So him, grandma, and my mom drove down to San Diego for the wedding over the weekend.

Now whenever my family has gone down to San Diego, it has been bad news. The first time my grandpa went there with my mom and brothers, they decided to go check out Tijuana,  Mexico haha. They almost got put in prison as they were arrested by a random cop down there. We suspected they were just trying to rob them. I am so glad they were safe.

When my brothers, Alicia, my mom, and grandpa and I went down a couple of years ago, my grandpa got extremely ill and ended up in the hospital. I then ended up extremely sick as well, with a high fever and being able to hardly eat or move at all for two weeks. Thankfully we both go well again for us to come back to SLC.

So back to this current trip in San Diego. They were only supposed to be gone a couple of days, so I took what I needed to my dad's house because they locked the entire house  up. While they were there, they heard some crazy chugging sounds coming from the car. Yep no bueno. So they had to get the car fixed, not sure of what was going on or how long it would take to fix them. They found out it would take at least another week! Ahh I didn't have enough medications because I only packed what I needed, so I was worried because I wouldn't have some important meds for a few days and the house was locked up. Josh and I finally decided we had to break in. Josh hopped the fence and tried every window, and guess what?? One window had one broken lock. What a blessing!

We had to go back a couple of times and break in to grab some things. I've been at my dad's with 10 people staying over (dad, step mom, step sisters, my sister, brothers, and I). My poor step mom dropping us off at 5 different schools. I've been sleeping on the couch in the living room, so that means I hear every noise in the house, including drums, guitar, piano, and a flute sometimes all playing at once along with people talking and our dogs Cody and Oscar crying for attention. It's also been hard to keep organized with not many places to put my possessions, so it looks like there was a tornado in the living room. Luckily my step sisters went back to their dad's tonight so it's finally much more peaceful, but I am rambling again. I'll just say this week has been insane!

So I haven't been keeping up with the blog challenge like I should because all the computers here have some defect to them, but I will get back on it once I get home. I am glad that my uncle is now married because he has been waiting so many years to do so. And I guess that just by being at my dad's has helped me appreciate my home better and I will be glad to go back soon :) That's all for now folks!

Goals

Day 13: I have many short term and daily goals. I live some of my goals and others are remaining on my bucket list. I know that goals are important to help us going in life. Here are a few I have:

Lifelong:
1. To follow every medical directive, even when it doesn't seem necessary or all is going well.
2. To stay athletically fit my entire life.
3. To always meet to people
4. To stay optimistic and always remember how to have fun
5.To show people I care about them. When I meet someone new, I will show them I care
6.To show my appreciation
7. To continue replacing fear with faith
8. To thank my father in heaven for even the small things
9. To love as I have been loved
10. Laugh every day
11. Smile every day
12. To always remain worthy to enter the temple. To visit the temple frequently.
13. To read my scriptures every day
14. To do something every day that scares me
15. To always be down to earth
16. To always obey those still small feelings from the holy ghost
17. To strive to be artistic

Down the Road:
1. Take voice, guitar, piano, and dance lessons.
2. Marry in the temple to someone who is worthy of his priesthood, happy, optimistic, supportive (especially about CF), kind, generous, fun, etc. (haha that's a whole other list)

3. Graduate college with a masters degree
4. Raise my children in the gospel . Help them know of their divine worth and help them remain worthy. Show them the importance of loving and supporting each other. Teach them the importance of hard work, honesty, integrity, determination, and having fun. Show them know I love them and support them.
5. My husband and I raise our family in home filled with love
6. To hold grandchildren of my own
7. To learn about my ancestors
8. To still stay healthy. Be consistent with treatments, exercise, vitamins, etc

Spontaneous (Now this will be fun! :) I'm not sure if they can all be done, but oh well )
1. Play hide and go seek at Ikea
2. Have a pillow fight at a bounce playground, like at Classic Skating
3.Go shark cage touring (you scuba dive down into the ocean, you get inside a cage, and large sharks swim up to you. Crazy, I know)
4. Go on a cruise
5. Go on a vacation to Hawaii
6. Swim with dolphins
7. Tour Europe
8. See Wicked in New York
9. Visit Harry Potter world in my full Gryffindor outfit
10. Go paint balling
11. Go skiing
12. Go to Lake Powell
13. Do a service project in a 3rd world country
14. Buy something from fashion designer Rachel Roy so it has my name on it :)

I Believe

Day 12:  I believe in a lot of things. Things that I have learned throughout my lifetime through good and bad situations. Things that I have always felt in my heart. Some things I know without a doubt. So here are a few:


I believe:
-God wants us to be happy. That's why we have the gospel and the church. We have the commandments to keep us on the straight and narrow.We go through hard times to discover what happiness is. We are surrounded by good people who help bring us happiness...And there is so much more!
-Determination determines our destination
-Everyone is going through something. That's one reason why we need to love everyone around us.
-Every prayer is answered at some point in time. Our father in heaven is always listening and will be there for us.
-A person lost in helping others finds himself/herself.
-Gratitude is a key ingredient for happiness
-Smiles can encourage, motivate, and brighten someone's day
-small acts of kindness pass down from person to person
-Forgive and forgo grudges
-There is always a silver lining
-Keep a promise. Keep your integrity
-Be honest at all times. Be honest with yourself and others.
-Seek out a forgotten friend
-People do pay attention, so we must be good examples
-Trust can be difficult to obtain, but once we do trust someone new opportunities can open up
-Always express gratitude

TV Shows

Day 11: I really don't watch much tv to be honest. But my favorite show is SYTYCD (so you think you can dance). The dances in there are amazing! It is very entertaining and can also be inspiring. I posted one of my favorite dances I have seen on the show below. It's not the best quality, but it shows how incredible the choreography can be! When I saw it on tv, my jaw dropped, I was speechless, with my fingers about pulling my hair out because I could not believe it!

Another favorite show of mine is a little older, but it is Boy Meets World. I still enjoy watching re-runs. It's one that I still laugh at and will remain a classic

And of course there is the Office. You can't go wrong with it :)


I also enjoy watching the Ellen Degeneres Show and a few shows on TLC, such as What Not to Wear. Extreme home makeover is fun to watch every now and then. I usually just watch movies that are on TV

Ophidiophobia

Day 10: When I was a young child I had a few things that I was terrified of. I was terrified of fire, the alligator at the ft worth zoo, and the robot alligator at the Rainforest Cafe at the mall that Josh and I thought was real. But while growing up in Texas I saw snakes quite often. We had them in our creek behind our apartment, we ran into them at the park, and ever since they terrify me! We once had Kara and Devin over and we all saw a garden snake in front of our apartment, flickering his tongue. And even though it wasn't poisonous, it was too much for me. I can't look at them. I can't even touch them. They are so gross and give me the chills down my spine whenever I see one in person (Even if it is tiny). I just can't stand snakes!!

Day 9: It is definitely not a challenge to say I have the best friends right now. They have been such great examples in my life and I will be sad to say goodbye to many of them after high school. But we always have the best of times laughing and joking around and having fun. We have helped each other out during difficult times and we bring out the best in each other. I am so blessed for them to be in my life! I will miss them all so much

Place I visited

Day 8: Yes, I know I skipped a few days, but anyways :) I haven't traveled to too many places. I have been to Southern California a few times, but one trip I will never forget was my Make A Wish Trip to Disney World when I was 12. I still remember hopping to the front of the lines and everything was free. I met my favorite characters and rode some great rides and stayed in the absolutely beautiful Grand Floridian. Good memories :) I am so grateful for Make a Wish and all that they do. They really are an incredible for helping childrens dreams come true.

And I still won't forget another vacation I took with my dad, step mom, brothers (and Oscar) to Yellowstone. We drove in our Suburban with Oscar fighting for his seat. We visited places such as Old Faithful and Jenny Lake while camping and hiking as well. We then drove up to Jackson Hole and went white water rafting, which was definitely a blast! I was able to kneel down in the very front, so it was a crazy ride. I love the outdoors and hope we could go up there again soon.

And of course when we visited Old Faithful we left Oscar in the back seat. When we came back to the car, Oscar had hopped in the drivers seat and was ready to go.

It was a great trip :)
I am also thrilled because it sounds like my dad is going to take us to our hometown in Texas this summer. It will be very hot and humid in the summer, but I am glad I will be able to see my hometown I left a few years ago.

Fav Movies

Day 7 of challenge: I love watching movies, but the problem is I hardly have much time anymore to watch any. But I do have a few favorites:

American Dreamz

Many people have not heard of it, but my mom decided to check it out from the library one day. It is ridiculous how many times I have seen this with my family and how we know every line and song in it. It is pretty much a parody making fun of politics and American Idol. Many people would say it's the dumbest movie they have ever seen, but it is absolutely hysterical!














Tangled: I saw this recently with my sister, and I fell in love with it. Repunzel is now my favorite Disney princess by far. She reminded me of myself, with how she tries to be positive and seeks adventure. The songs were also fun and it was one of the cutest movies I have seen lately.


 
Leap Year: My cousin Caryn had told me for a while that I needed to see this movie, and I finally saw it when my aunt came in town. I thought is was alright the first time I saw it, but the more I have seen it, the more I have fallen in love with it. It is a little hard to explain the story line, but it is definitely a funny, cute, clean, and feel-good movie to see.

 Letters to Juliet- Another chick flick that was much better than I thought it would be :) It was clean and had a great story line. I ended up loving it much more than I thought I would.

Napoleon Dynamite-I know, it's definitely a weird movie to have as a favorite. But for some reason it cracks me up every time. It's a movie I can still quote with my friends for hours without stopping. It's so great :)

Day 6: It is true :) It is impossible to look at him without smiling. He is such a character and is definitely a member of the family. He and I have been buddies since I was 9. Yes, I am talking about Oscar :)

Sibs

Day 5: Yes, this would be about my siblings :) I love these guys so much. We have grown together and I can truly say that we get along well. It's incredible! We are pretty close in age and we hardly ever fight. We have had fun growing up deep in the heart of Texas along with a few years in Utah. I am truly blessed for each of them: Alicia, Josh, and Brandon. I am now often mistaken for being the youngest because I'm the smallest haha, but oh well :) I would not be the same person I am today without them.

Alicia
My sister who is two years and two weeks older than me. We have had our moments of disagreeing and a few feuds, but at the same time she has been there when I have needed advice. I won't forget when we found kittens behind Grandma's shed and taking care of them in our room without mom knowing for a while. I won't forget our days at Dance Workshop, where we hated the frilly costumes but shared our love for dance. I won't forget hiding with you and Kara behind the trampoline, watching Devin dancing with undies on his head singing "I'm too sexy" while laughing our guts out. There are so many more memories as well :)

 

 

Josh: 

My first younger brother. He would always end up in trouble in an innocent way, and he would always be smiling or trying something new. He was a hilarious lil kid! I remember how my parents would die in laughter when he was two and he would go up to girls, wearing his sunglasses, and say "Hey Baby, what's your number?" He is now someone I can depend on and can receive advice from. He is a peace maker and still his goofy self. He is amazing!

Brandon: 

Those that know Brandon well know that he has always had a love for sports! As a kid he would look up to Pudge from the Rangers and would always be found wearing a football helmet or a baseball glove. He is a goof as well and is a lot of fun to be with. He has such a fun personality and is wise beyond his years. He is someone who has always had a big heart and also gives great advice. I love him!!

 As a wrap up, I just want to say I love them so much and we really are each others best friends. They are the best and I love them so much.
