More Goodbyes

Tuesday was the day when I made a huge transition. It was a jump from a place where I have visited often since I first moved to Utah when I was 9 years old. This was my last trip to the CF Clinic at Primary Children's Hospital. I had the most incredible doctors and nurses up there that have helped me since I was a young girl. I would not be who I am today (or even at this place in my life) without their help and patience with my stubborn moments. Even though I wasn't fond of being poked about every time I went up, being told I had 3 staff infections in my lungs, being placed on steroids, feeling ill after annual tests to see if I had diabetes, or being told I had to be in the hospital for 2 weeks, (ok, I won't go on any more. It's just life), I am so grateful for all the times they have helped me grow as they have taught me the importance of caution, determination, and responsibility. They told me I have grown and are proud of my hard work, but they contribute so much and never stop giving their love and support to all their patients. It is very exciting to move on, but hard to say goodbye to my cheerleaders and best support group I could ask for. I hope that any CF patient who is under their care realizes how amazing they are!

My Doc and I

last PFT there with one of the most awesome chicas ever

So now that I am almost done with high school and moving on to college and exciting chapters of my life, it's time to go to the adult clinic. After the clinic visit my mom and I quickly stopped by the new clinic at the U, and holy cow it is different than it was! The halls used to be the pits, and now it is remodeled and feels much better.

It kind of looks like a nice shopping mall, if you ask me :)

And speaking of more goodbyes, today was also our traditions assembly. I am absoulutely exhausted because I woke up at 5 am to be at school by 6:15 to practice a 30 second dance based off fiddler on the roof, but I am glad it's over with :) The SBOs boogied with recaps from their skits last year, and two guys came on stage whipping their hair like wild animals all around to "I whip my hair back and forth." But it was very entertaining and I believe I got a good ab workout from laughing. There were a few awards given out to outstanding students and the stud gov was recognized and we recieved our plaques. They also showed a video of us singing to the graduation song by vitamin c, and for some reason I decided to pretend I was crying as if I was very sad we were leaving high school, but I looked like a complete fool because everyone thought I really was crying and I was being sarcastic...but I will try to not embarrass myself like that again and luckily it will never be shown again :)  They introduced the new SBOs with the candle ceremony, and I know they will have buckets of fun and I hope they enjoy their senior year. I am just too antsy to graduate and am counting down the days

So long farewell

Tonight we met as a seminary council as a hello goodbye, to say hello to the new council for next year and goodbye to the (current, it's not quite over yet). We had a delicious bbq and then Jackie, me, and Brynn from the new council jumped our hearts out on the trampoline. We gave the new council advice and the wonderful opportunities that they will have.

I'll just say it was very hard to say goodbye. Despite our differences, we have grown close together and have learned a lot over this past year as our testimonies have strengthened and as we have relied on each other. Although it's been hard at times to go to early morning meetings and keep up with responsibilities, we will never forget how helping out the seminary students and the students at Brighton by striving to be good examples and sharing our testimonies has helped us become closer to not only each other, but to our Father in Heaven. Once Stacey gave the closing prayer and started tearing up, the rest of us found tears streaming down. We embraced each other and took pictures, reminding ourselves we still have one more week left. I love them all so much and will never forget how we have impacted each others lives.

Bye bye :( (Not pictured: Tanner and Isaac. We will miss them too)
Yay new council! Yall are gonna have a blast :)

The Bat House

This weekend involved a few adventures. It started out on Friday with a Spontaneous DI-themed dance. It was announced on Thursday at school, and it was boys and girls choice so I asked my friend Christian after school, and we decided to still be dorks and dress in DI clothes to the dance. We went to Chick-Fil-A and then hit the dance floor at school. When we got there, there were only about 20 people, but we all knew each other and we immediately broke out in dance moves. The rest of our friends showed up, and it was time to party! The gym never completely filled up because not everyone wanted to go to a spontaneous dance, so everyone else missed out. Many of us were sore afterwards and my back and neck have not been this stiff for a long time, even after lifting 50-60 lbs at the gym. Brighton definitely has class and it was one of the best dances!!

On Saturday we had our State Choir tourney. We all hopped on a bus for an hour to a high school out in the boondocks. Unfortunately I had a really bad stomach ache so I could not sing well, but we ended up placing a 1-,1-, and a 1, which is pretty good!

So about this bat house...My friend Michelle and I went to a small wedding reception for one of our friends on Saturday night. We originally thought it was at her house, but after arriving we discovered nobody was there, so we checked the address once more. We went to the address the invite said and here was this house that looked very sketchy. Why? Haha there was a large bat decoration wearing a santa clause hat above the garage, along with gargoyle statues, along with an eerie-looking black door. We went up to the door, in our bright spring dresses, and asked, "Is this where the wedding reception is?" The girl at the door looked very confused and shook her head. We decided to check this other street that sounded similar, and it turns out the reception was at a church! We laughed so hard we cried, so we will always remember that bat house. And so here is a pic and I sure hope the owner of the house never reads this blog post :p
