Brave (spoiler alert!)
Today I just had the chance to see Brave, and I loved it! I think it might just be on my top Disney/Pixar list now. I loved the characters (not to mention Merida's hair reminds me of mine after waking up), and the story line, quotes throughout the it, and the moral of the movie had struck me hard.
I usually do not talk about my future, but I think about it a lot, and whether I will be accepted because of the challenges I have faced, yet at the same time, I don't want to rush into things because many others' have certain blessings happen sooner because it may have been the right time for them. I think about my mission on this earth, and how often times it seems to, in a way, contradict with what is often taught here at Byu. So ok, I know this may be cheesy, but I will come out and mention it. In Brave, (I know it's not the main message, but I'll get to that in a sec), Merida was forced to marry someone almost instantly, and felt peer pressure from the tradition, but felt it wasn't time. Sometimes I feel this way at Byu, where I feel that my mission often contradicts the lessons on dating and marriage--mainly timing. Yes, those are important, but I honestly don't know when it's supposed to happen, so I'm just trying to leave it in the Lord's hands as I'm trying to do what I'm supposed to. I've been told through certain ways that it will happen eventually, but it has sounded like it's not the most important thing for me right now (and for some people it is--I'm not trying to discourage or make different choices because everyone is different). While watching Brave, I felt that I could relate to Merida a little more and even had tears come to my eyes, as if an answer to my desires, when the queen said something like "It's ok, it will happen at the right time."
Ok, ok!! Cheesy soap message is over with! Even more than that, I admired the message of how pride can destroy families, and even more than that, I loved the main message on how we can change our fate. After watching the movie, I've thought about how my fate can be determined by how I take care of myself. Cystic Fibrosis requires a lot of bravery at times and constant responsibility. I could eat processed food all the time like "the average college student" and skip the homemade meals, fruits, and veggies, I could say, "I'm too tired to run or lift weights," "This medication tastes terrible!", "This pill is so small, so why take it?", "Max (the lax) tastes nasty and grainy" "This vest isn't getting much mucous up," along with many other excuses, but they all will determine my "fate." Even though Merida is a fictional character who faced much tougher decisions, we all have small decisions that can determine how our lives will play out.
So, the question is, "If you had the chance to change your fate, would you?"

I'm a fan
Now I know I'm a often a sucker when it comes to cartoon movies, but along with a few movies I have caught up on during this break, I saw the Muppets today at the theater and loved it. There were many things that I laughed at that nobody thought were funny, but I didn't care because it was a happy, feel-good movie. There are moments in it where the characters break out in song and dance, which would normally be weird, but hey they pulled it off in this movie. Anyone reading this should go watch it when they have the chance :)

I did it!
Today is the last day of it, Day 30: a picture
As some of you may know, I've always been a Harry Potter nerd, and Deathly Hallows Part 1 finally came out on Dvd! I went to Target today and bought the Dvd/blu-ray combo pack. Ahhh I can't even express my happiness. And I am promising that I won't be as pathetic as the time I saw it at the movie theater at midnight when I cried so loudly the whole theater could hear me sobbing. There was one point in the movie that everyone laughed at, but I couldn't hear them laughing because I was crying so hard because I knew this one sad part was coming up. But I will stop talking about that humiliating experience.
Here it is! Ahh :)
I really cannot wait for the next one. Part 2 comes out this summer. I don't even know how my friends and I will cope because we'll probably be such wrecks from waiting and releasing our excitement.
So yes I did it! It's not that special but I finally completed the 30 day challenge :)

Fav Movies
Day 7 of challenge: I love watching movies, but the problem is I hardly have much time anymore to watch any. But I do have a few favorites:
American Dreamz
Many people have not heard of it, but my mom decided to check it out from the library one day. It is ridiculous how many times I have seen this with my family and how we know every line and song in it. It is pretty much a parody making fun of politics and American Idol. Many people would say it's the dumbest movie they have ever seen, but it is absolutely hysterical!

Tangled: I saw this recently with my sister, and I fell in love with it. Repunzel is now my favorite Disney princess by far. She reminded me of myself, with how she tries to be positive and seeks adventure. The songs were also fun and it was one of the cutest movies I have seen lately.
Leap Year: My cousin Caryn had told me for a while that I needed to see this movie, and I finally saw it when my aunt came in town. I thought is was alright the first time I saw it, but the more I have seen it, the more I have fallen in love with it. It is a little hard to explain the story line, but it is definitely a funny, cute, clean, and feel-good movie to see.
Letters to Juliet- Another chick flick that was much better than I thought it would be :) It was clean and had a great story line. I ended up loving it much more than I thought I would.
Napoleon Dynamite-I know, it's definitely a weird movie to have as a favorite. But for some reason it cracks me up every time. It's a movie I can still quote with my friends for hours without stopping. It's so great :)

Yes! I am a Harry Potter Nerd!
Last night I was able to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. I had been waiting so long for this! The book was incredible, and I was hoping the movie would stick with it, and it did! I was a very emotional person during the movie and could not stop tearing up and crying! haha. It really was a great film and I cannot wait for part 2!

A few discoveries
Here are a few things I have recently discovered, listened to, seen, tasted, and fallen in love with.
-The local band Allred. They are on Itunes and just recently came out with a new cd. They are so talented I literally had goosebumps running down my arms!
-the movie Letters to Juliet. It's so cute and clean :) . I actually saw it a couple of months ago, but it just came out on DVD and Blu Ray last week :)
-Recipes: Cinnamon Chips with fruit salsa. It is sooo easy to make and helped add a twist to my school lunch I brought. http://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/04/sweet-fruit-salsa-with-cinnamon-chips.html and http://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/04/baked-cinnamon-chips.html . I also discovered crepes are easy to make and delicious :) (But on this recipe, I put it at a low temperature instead and cooked the crepes longer. And when they say use the rubber spatula, they mean it because they are easier to flip). http://www.ourbestbites.com/2010/06/tutorial-crepes-famous-smith-family.html
